The premier event hosted by FIRST is a top tier competition in FTC, just as the World Championship. 19600 Treeman participated in the "Run for the Robots" premier events in Lexington, KY, competing robotics with 55 other teams throughout the world.







Treeman 19600 was allied with Technosaints Plink 21528 and became the winning alliance in the Secretariat division. Representing Secretariat, we competed against the winning alliance in the Man O' War division and won the premier event. Hence, 19600 became the first Chinese team to be part of a winning alliance in an international event like the premier.









Through our driver's relentless exercise and our careful design, our robot (named Gloria) helped us gain over 400 points 4 times in the whole event and accounted for the top 6 records of the event. Simultaneously, 19600 attained the top OPR among all teams in the event.









Meanwhile, 19600 won the control award in Secretariat division through our excellent control on field and explanation about everything behind our robot to the judge. In totality, 19600 won 2 trophies for YK Pao School!







As to engineering, our unique robotic design attracts FTC's sponsor GoBilda's attention. After displaying many practical designs to GoBilda, 19600 gained the approval and sponsorship from GoBilda.



As to programming, our approach to visual analysis helped us design an autonomous code that scores 6 samples. 23504 from Brazil came to our PIT to explore visual analysis through Limelight 3A. Many coaches also came to our PIT to explore ways to adjust PID, apply pedro-pathing and designing the best route mathematically through equations such as the Euler-Lagrange function.

As to outreach, apart from events such as She Power, Coast to Coast and Unify to Diversify that extends FIRST impact and international bonds, we prepared many Chinese gifts in our PITs to advocate for Chinese traditional culture. We left our emails and contacts for the international teams to extend our bonds in the future.





In conclusion, 19600 treeman has already became an internationally strong team that can represent not only YK Pao but also China to gain glory on fields. We displayed our gracious professionalism through coding, engineering and outreach on and off the field.

Meanwhile, 19600 treeman will not end our steps here - we will keep climbing, and we will continue to progress!

During September, FTC official released the competiton manual for the 2024-2025 season, starting the new FTC season "Into the Deep".

Apart from the change in manual details every year, the rules underwent a great deal of change in this new season.

Before discussing details of "Into the Deep", we will introduce the change in rules first.

1) During the finals (knockout stage), the number of leagues increased and the number of teams within the league decreased to 2. Simultaneously adopting a double elimination system, leagues that have lost one game can enter the loser group to continue playing.

2) The order of promotion to the World Championships during the final national tournament has been changed to Inspiration One, Champions League captain, and Champions League allies. The second place winner of the Inspiration Award will no longer advance to the World Championships.

3) The minor judgment has been reduced to 5 points, and the major judgment has been reduced to 15 points.

4) There is no need to submit a separate application form for the Control Award.

In addition, starting this year, the FTC has officially established regulations on the quality and performance of teams on the field. If there are uncivilized behaviors such as attacks and threats, participants may be punished or even banned.

The theme for this season is "Into the Deep". The court is setup like this:



The structure in the center of the venue is stacked with samples, which will become the main scoring method this year. Robots can pick samples of their own color or universal yellow samples from within the structure. In addition to existing within the structure, six yellow samples will be placed at the six locations marked with white tape on the field before the start of the competition, and three samples of corresponding colors will also be placed at the red/blue tape locations.

The team's robots started off against a wall that was surrounded by their own colors. The yellow sample should be placed in the basket on the left side of each team. 2 points on the ground, 4 points on the low frame, and 8 points on the high frame.

The color samples of their own team should be transported to the area on the right-hand side of the tape frame by the predecessors, and then human players can combine the black hook with the samples to become specimens.





After the person exits the venue through projection, the robot hangs the specimen on the corresponding colored stem in the central structure of the venue. Low pole earns 6 points, high pole earns 10 points.

Compared to previous competitions, the automatic phase of this round of "Deep Sea Sampling" does not have a special scoring method outside of docking. During the automatic phase, the robot can pre load either an assembled specimen or an unassembled sample. After the automatic phase is completed, it can be parked at the corner of the side track or adjacent pole, earning 3 points. The remaining scoring methods are no different from the manual stage.

At the end of the phase, the robot can choose to park or climb within the area marked with white tape. Stopping for 3 points, climbing to the first pole earns 15 points, and climbing to the second pole earns 30 points.
